LESLIE SCHWARTZ brings a powerful message
of hope to the world. Born in Hungary, Schwartz is a teenage survivor of
Auschwitz and Dachau, and his lifelong search for healing and wholeness eventually
led him back to Germany. His wish now is to educate and uplift people by
leaving a legacy of healing and methods of conflict resolution for future generations.
He has shared his story with thousands of students in the United States and Germany,
and each summer he meets with people from all over the world at the
International Youth Meeting at Dachau. The Mühldorf Train of Death (2012) a documentary by German filmmaker Beatrice
Sonhüter explores the last days of the war and Schwartz’ survival of the Mühldorf “death train” as researched by six modern-day
German teenagers. In 2012, Schwartz will be awarded Germany’s highest civilian
honor—the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
